Fallow + Floret has a high standard for how people should be treated and respected. To protect individuals and the community experience, I have a few guidelines for everyone’s safety and comfort. These apply to any Fallow + Floret experience, but especially group sessions, Patreon membership and special events:
Lead with empathy.
Listen without judgment, assume good intentions, and respond with kindness. Everyone’s experience with illness is different.
Respect each person’s identity and perspective.
Use participants’ names and pronouns as provided. Discrimination, harassment, bullying, or hateful language is not permitted.
Share the space.
Allow others time to speak, avoid interrupting, and be mindful of the amount of time you use. Passing or choosing not to speak is always welcome.
No unsolicited medical advice.
Do not diagnose, recommend treatments or medications, or pressure others to follow a particular healthcare approach. Educational resources and suggestions should be shared thoughtfully and with permission.
Protect confidentiality.
What is shared in the group should remain private. Do not repeat, screenshot, record, or distribute another participant’s comments, image, name, or personal information without their explicit permission.
Ask before offering support.
Before giving advice, feedback, or potentially sensitive information, ask whether the person would like it.
Use content awareness.
When discussing potentially distressing topics, provide a brief content note when possible. Participants may step away, turn off their camera, mute themselves, or leave at any time.
Maintain virtual meeting safety.
Join from a reasonably private space when possible. Do not share the meeting link or password. Keep your display name appropriate, and do not admit unauthorized people into the meeting.
Respect boundaries.
Do not privately contact, solicit, pressure, or request personal or financial information from other members without consent.
No recording or promotion.
Meetings may not be recorded or used to promote products, services, fundraising, or unrelated businesses without written permission from Fallow + Floret, LLC.
Crisis and medical concerns.
These meetings are not medical care, emergency services, or crisis counseling. Contact a qualified healthcare professional or local emergency service for urgent concerns. I have a list of crisis resources here should you need them.
